1.Vi Pro Not Working in Logic with M1 Mac Mini 9/21/2021 5:56:00 PM

I haven't been able to use the Vienna Instruments Pro 2 audio unit instrument directly in Logic, but I have been able to use it with the Vienna Ensemble Pro 7 audio unit instrument module.  It seems to work OK at first glance, but I haven't done much yet to confirm that it works well in more complex situations.

2.Vi Pro Not Working in Logic with M1 Mac Mini 9/15/2021 10:56:22 PM

I am having trouble with the VI Pro audio unit in Logic.

I am using the latest M1 Apple Mac mini computer, and the latest versions of VI Pro and Logic.   I am using Logic in the Rosetta mode.   Both the Synchron player audio unit component and the VI Pro component have passed the audio unit validation test according to the plugin manager in Logic.    The problem is that VI Pro does not show up in the list of available audio unit instruments.   The Synchron player does show up and works fine.   Does anyone have any idea why the VI Pro component doesn’t show up?   Has anyone used the VI Pro component successfully with Logic Pro and an M1 mac mini?   Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I have done the usual uninstalls and reinstalls, etc.

3.!! SYNCHRON BRASS !! 7/8/2021 10:40:28 PM

I am excited about the Synchron Brass!   I noticed, though, that the system requirements for the Brass have changed from previous Synchron instruments, and for the Mac it now requires Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra.  For reasons of other software, I am still using Mac OS 10.11.6.   I am wondering if the Synchron Brass are truly incompatible with this earlier OS, or what difficulties I might encounter if I were to install them on my OS 10.11.6 system.

Many thanks,

4.Editing a patch 8/29/2013 6:22:42 PM

That works perfectly!   Thank you very much.

5.Editing a patch 8/28/2013 11:20:49 PM

I am working with the baritone sax portato short patch, and I would like to be able to edit the patch in such a way that I would only hear the quietest layer, but be able to play it at all dynamic levels.   In other words, I want to play the quiet sound loudly and avoid the harshness of the louder layers.  I know, of course, that this is not the way the baritone sounds in reality, but reality is not what I am after.   Adjusting the velocity crossfades doesn't seem to do the trick.   Does anyone have any suggestion as to how to disable the louder layers in the patch?  Thanks for any thoughts.

6.Dimension Strings in Logic 1/19/2013 4:44:59 PM

Thanks very much, that solved the problem.  That's what happens when you don't read the manual thoroughly!

7.Dimension Strings in Logic 1/18/2013 9:12:33 PM

I am using the Dimemsion Strings in Logic with VI Pro build 2.3.11859.  The presets will load correctly, but the Matrix files will not.   I get a greyed out Matrix, and there are no sounds.  Other matrix files in different, (non-Dimension) instruments load correctly, and the matrix files load correctly in the standalone mode.   Does anyone have any idea of what I am doing wrong?   (I don't want to load a whole preset if  can avoid it, in order to conserve memory.  Many thanks for any suggestions.

8.Velocity X-Fading Newbie question 12/6/2007 8:13:08 PM
Actually, I just figured out the solution to my problem, which was to keep the velocity sensitivity, but use crossfading. What I needed to due was to set note on velocity as the controller for crossfading in the map control window. Simple, but I somehow didn't make the connection...
9.Velocity X-Fading Newbie question 12/3/2007 6:47:48 PM
I am confused about Velocity X-Fading in Vienna Instruments. My understanding of velocity x-fading in other samplers was that it was a way of gradually shifting from the sound of one sample to the sound of another. For example, if if a note in the velocity range of 30-58 triggered one sample, and a note in the velocity range of 59-80 triggered a different sample, velocity x-fading could be applied so that the difference between the two samples would be smoothed, so that playing a note at velocity 58 would not produce a radically different sound from a note at velocity 59. From what I understand of what velocity x-fading is in Vienna Instruments, it is simply a way to use a controller to control the amplitude of the sound.

I am using the Chamber Strings, and I would like to find a way to make it so that the difference in timbre between the different velocity samples is not so extreme.
