1.Syncron Crashes 6/29/2022 12:18:25 PM

Hi, I think this may have been raised before but here is another one.

Since moving to Ilok my program crashes with utmost regularity whenever I use Syncron Instruments. Using a PC on Windows and Cubase 12. I have tried to adjust cpu settings and also the buffer but it still crashes (with 128GB ram). It doesn't happen with the older VIPRO instruments, or indeed instruments and programs from any other software provider. I have persevered for quite a long time with the situation but it is extremely difficult to work with.

Would be delighted (and relieved) to see the problem fixed.

Best regards,

Woy

2.VE Pro 7 crashing when clicking Master Bus after loading plugin 4/23/2022 10:00:54 AM

I had exactly the same priblem. Fould that if you press f3 it takes you to the master bus and then all ok.

Regards,

Woy

William you could not be more correct. The attention to detail that has run through the entire company is actually incredible, from the very first products to today. I have admired how this company operates for many years and they are light years ahead of all the competition. Regards. Roy

4.How to make VSL Strings sound great (VI Library Video) 4/19/2020 1:01:56 PM

Thanks Eloy.

To be fair to VSL,-  they did provide some excellent and really helpful examples of multiple matrix setups in their video (30) VIENNA SPECIAL EDITION: Inspiration Presets (HD) - YouTube. The Inspiration matrixes are free and available to download with a VEPRO license.

Recently however, the company appears to be solely concentrating on the Syncron platform. I have a feeling that there would be significant interest from within the current owners of VIPRO products for many more examples of multiple matrix setups.

Although VSL always poiint out that their examples are only a starting point and you can do anything with and to them, nevertheless  they are extremely helpful to start the process and take you forward. I think your own video is exactly in line with this thinking.

Regards,

Roy

5.How to make VSL Strings sound great (VI Library Video) 4/15/2020 1:32:13 PM

Dear Eloy,

I am so impressed with your video, and your experiences of other sample libraries and providers matches my own in so many ways. Your approach to combining different samples in a single Matrix is extremely helpful. Although VSL have previously made combination Matrixes available (eg Inspiration) I always had the impression that this was donerather grudgingly and somehow took away from their perception of "purity". Perhaps for a  master such as Guy Bacos that might be true, but for some of us mere mortals, the approach you bring is tremedously helpful. Speaking purely personally (and not wishing in any way to abuse your time and good nature), i personally would be willing to pay for a reasonably comprehensive set of "Eloy VSL Matrixes) that could be downloaded and used in our VSL set ups.

In any event, - thank you again and i wish you joy with your music.

Regards,

Roy

Hi, I have to agree with Paul. Having used many midi controller keyboards over the years I have found that the Lachnit keyboards are simply in a different class for touch and playability. They are quite expensive, but do you get what you pay for. Regards, Roy

8.VE-Pro 15914 5/6/2017 4:21:57 PM

I have noticed that in the Syncron Demo "Setup Presets and Overview", the number of the version is 15914. Does this explain why the microphone controls are not available to be seen because of the humanize controls? They are visible in the standalone version only,

Having checked the available download files they don't look as though they are available, or have I missed something?

Regards,

Woy

9.VE PRO Automation 2/3/2017 8:54:24 AM
Hi, I am running VE PRO 6 hosted on a PC running Cubase 9.
My template is all contained within folders. I am aware that VE learn automation only works within VE Pro.
Is there a simple way for me to control the volumes within VE PRO directly in Cubase?
I know this has been raised before on the forum, but any updated simple procedure suggestions would be appreciated.
Kind regards,
WOY
10.Vienna Suite Pro 11/19/2015 11:33:40 AM

Hi Paul,

I am just wondering if you are yet able to shed any light on my original question - the strong buzzing sound  when loading a preset with the  4x OS button on?

regards,

Roy

11.Vienna Suite Pro 11/7/2015 6:43:56 PM

Martin, I have now figured out that the buzzing occurs in the Eq Pro when I load a preset because it defaults to the green light 4x OS as on. When I switch this off - no more buzzing.

Not sure why this should happen but that is the answer.

Regards, Roy

12.Vienna Suite Pro 11/6/2015 9:14:32 AM

Martin, just to clarify - loading the Vienna Suite Pro plug -in does not cause any problem. It is when you load any factory designed pre-set that triggers the buzzing .

regards, Roy

13.Vienna Suite Pro 11/5/2015 7:00:09 PM

Hi Martin,

I an running on Windows 7 Professional and Cubase Pro 8.30

Roy

14.Vienna Suite Pro 11/5/2015 1:52:49 PM

Hi, Having purchased the Suite Pro I have been trying it out. On loading the Equaliser and Exciter I get a continuous buzzing/crackling in both speaker channels (stereo). This does not happen when running any other plug ins including the standard Vienna Suite. I have tried increasing the buiffer sizes Streaming and ASIO to large but it did not stop the problem. Would be grateful if you can advise.

Kind regards,

Roy

15.VE Pro audio muting when switching tracks in Cubase Pro 8 12/11/2014 11:45:14 AM

I am getting the same experience with Cubase 8. Have tried ASIO guard at Normal and Low but it only works when totally switched off and then the latency is very noticeable. This seems to be restricted to VE Pro and not when you just load VI Pro. It would be much appreciated if it could be investigated as although Cubase 7.5 works with ASIO Guard switched off, clearly many people will upgrade to 8.

17.DAW Plus / XI Machines - Review 4/22/2013 6:53:26 AM

I agree with all your comments regarding the speed and quality of these products. I have been so impressed that I have bought a second machine from XI_Machines with AngelBird SSDs for my second studio. These products -like VSL - are  simplyin a different class. Since I getting this equipment, I don't worry about latency/RAM/ or indeed anything else to do with the hardware which is actually what I wanted to achieve. Not being "a techy" I am more interested in using equipment simply as a means of making music-not an occupation in itself. The power and speed "is sufficient" to do everything and that is all I ask or want.

Regards,

woy

18.Angelbird SSD's - a review 4/3/2013 2:11:26 PM

I also bought a top-end pc from XI_Machines which was configured with AngelBird SSDs.  I have to say that the pc is an absolute monster and together with the SSDs provides incredible performance. On the plus side I found both companies to be hugely supportive in getting the equipment working exactly right. The SSDs originally supplied by Angelird were prone to heat damage (and beware there is no rebate for failure after they had been working), however they did substantially discount the replacements which are now better protected. The whole set up does come to a considerable amount of money but Henry Royce (of Rolls Royce) once coined the saying "the quality remains long after the price is forgotten". If you want speed and quality - they just are!

Best,

Roy

 Dietz,

Thanks for mentioning the new FLKeys midi piano. It looks to be a great keyboard because it claims to provide 100% midi messages regardless of the chosen playing weight. However at that price it is quite a leap of faith!

Have you actually played it, or do you know anyone who has and can give some kind of feedback.

Would be much appreciated.

Best regards, Roy

22.Opening Venue Presets 5/25/2012 10:32:44 AM

Hi Dietz, I hope you don't mind me tagging on a quick question. I am reinstalling all VSL onto a new pc.Everything works except that MIR is not finding the room tones (which I have downloaded the latest version) Please advise where they should be installed.

Many thanks, Roy

24.VE running Windows Plug-Ins on Mac 4/5/2012 7:48:28 AM

Paul, if I may I should like to ask the opposite question. I am planning to use my current MacPro as a slave once I have installed a new more powerful pc to run VI and VEP (on Cubase). Will I still be able to use the Mac plugins (Logic) on my Mac slave?

best regards, Roy

25.VE Pro 5 and Logic -- Two Questions: 1. Special requirement for I/O plugin, and 2. Avoiding 16... 3/24/2012 2:18:17 PM

Having used Logic for many years (on a MAC PRO 2.93 -8 core- 32Gig ram), I was reluctant to start the tedious process of getting familiar with a new DAW. However, life moves on and I feel that VEP5 and the technical marvel that is MIR have shown me that Logic is no longer an automatic and ideal choice as host. The ingenious "work arounds" with the multiport etc seem to work but I guess they are necessary because Logic is perhaps not really ideal for the job. I have found that the Event plug ins and the multiport solutions both work but when MIR is entered into the equation I thought it wise to look at an alternative.  I bought Cubase 6.5 and have just set up a quick VEP template with MIR. Running everything on a single MacPro I immediately found a significant reduction in latency, and VEP wih MIR does indeed seem (in my non-technical view) to be more comfortably hosted. It will take a long time for me to get as familiar with Cubase as I am with Logic (and if it were not for VSL I would not change), but as I spend most of my time now working with VSL and MIR it is probably a journey I shall continue. My next decision is which slave to get, and again I am coming to the conclusion that even with all my long time affection for the Mac, a windows pc is probably the way forward but I would also want to keep my Mac and would be interested to know if anyone has any advice on the best way to structure a dual set up e.g. which one hosts MIR? Roy
