New Crossgrade Flexibility
We’re updating our crossgrade program to make it simpler, clearer, and far more flexible.
Until now, if you’re a registered user of a discontinued product, you usually had a single crossgrade path to one specific active product.
Starting August 24, that value becomes Vienna Points – giving you the flexibility to redeem them toward almost any sample library in our web shop!
What’s ending on August 22,2026
On August 22, 2026, most crossgrade paths retire and become Vienna Points.
Discontinued products:
From VI Series libraries (all Collections, including VI Series Special Editions) to Studio Series Collections
From Big Bang Orchestra 1.0 (27 BBO Packs from Andromeda to Zodiac) to BBO 2.0 and corresponding Synchron Series Collections
From Vienna Smart Orchestra to Synchron Smart Orchestra
Active Products:
From Studio Special Editions to Studio Series Collections
To see your personal crossgrade prices while they last, log in, go to Search Products, open the Deals filter, and set it to “My Discounts”. You'll see every eligible product at your own price.
Starting August 24, 2026: Vienna Points
From August 24, 2026, whatever crossgrade value you haven’t used is converted into Vienna Points and credited automatically to your MyVSL account. Their total value matches your unused discounts, and they give you far more freedom in how you spend them.
Vienna Points go toward the price of a library – whatever price applies at the time, list or promotional – up to these caps:
Pay up to 75% of any Studio Series library with Vienna Points
Pay up to 50% of any Synchron Series library with Vienna Points
Both series include all corresponding Starter Editions – essentially every sample library.
You will be able to apply Vienna Points during checkout, up to each product’s cap. They can’t be used for software products or Vienna Vouchers.
Good through December 31, 2026
Your Vienna Points will be ready to use starting August 24 and stay valid through the end of the year – ample time to put them toward the libraries you’ve been meaning to add, at the enhanced rates above.
Studio Special Editions are a special case: all seven Volumes stay active, and the Vienna Points replacing the current upgrade discounts will not expire. You can use them toward Studio and Synchron Series products as described above.
These upgrade paths stay the same
Upgrade paths from Essentials, Synchron Prime Orchestra, and BBO 2.0 to Premium Collections, as well as all software product upgrades, remain available as before.
