Hello,

I am trying to update my libraries with the two files that are the last ones on this page : http://www.vsl.co.at/en/68/498/1987/1675.htm

I downloaded and installed the latest softwares versions including the download manager but it won't let me use the files, everything is greyed out.

My libraries are well recognized by the directory manager, I have the latest version of the elicenser.

Can you help me on this one please ?

You need to drag the .zip file into the Directory Manager window.

I found that I sometimes had to drag the files in more than once for them to work.....

I have the same problem here. :(

I've installed the lastet VI Pro and eLicenser software. But I always get the prohibited mouse icon when I try to drop those library update files on the folders in the Directory Manager. I also tried from different drives cause I've read in an old thread that the updates won't work when you try to install them form an usb stick.

Anything else I could try?

Unpack the zip file first, then drag the unpacked file to the directory manager.

Thank you all for your replies but I tried everything I could think of to no avail ...

I have noticed also that if you try to launch the directory manager app that is inside the Vienna instrument folder it crashes immediately.

It does not happen with the one inside the Ensemble Pro folder though ...

Quite by accident, I discovered that if I run the Directory Manager with administrator privileges (right-clicking the file and selecting "Run as Administrator"), I can't drop the zip files in to update my libraries. Try just left-clicking the Directory Manager file to open it and then see if you can drop in the zip files.

Thanks so much corte1!!! That was my problem. I always opened the directory manager as administrator as I thought that would be a good option. Now everything is fine. :)

Thanks again for your support!

I'm on 64 bit Vista and when I unzip the files the extender is .viupdate, not the extender  .vsl download... and it won't load. Any ideas?

It's the Directory Manager for the Instruments, and the extender is .viupdate

Ok, after several attempt I still can't update my libraries and its due to a FAULTY DIRECTORY MANAGER APP inside the latest vienna instrument software for Mac 10.6.8 !!!

So I give up for now and I'm waiting to hear from someone at VSL ...

We have a confirmed issue with DM of Vienna Instruments. We will

Releaase an update today that fixes the problem. The updates are mostly for VIPro2 however, so you won't really miss much in VI alone. If you have VIPro2, please run the updates in its DM.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi kptainfilou49,

I have just sent a demo license for VI PRO, then the Library Update will work.

We´re preparing a new version that will eliminate this bug (which is that Library Updates need a VI PRO license to work properly).

Thanks for your patience,

Paul

As of today 07/03/2016 it looks to me a problem is still present.  In the download manager no viupdate files can be loaded, be it by file selection or drag and drop.  Running as administrator or not as administrator does not change a bit to the situation.  Anybody any ideas?  I'm on windows 10.

I have the same problem as well (20 Nov 2016) trying to update library files for VSL SE instruments. I am using the latest Download Manager, and OSX 10.11.6. Ihave tried dragging a viupdate file onto the DM, dragging the zip file, opening via Add Download button - the files do not get accepted. I've also tried various locations to load from.

The previous version of Download Manager behaves the same.

Maybe I should start a new thread?

Ray.
