Congrats to the team and to our own Andi Olszewski for his role in this - a man of many talents!  I loved seeing him featured in this VSL yt video on interesting aspects of the making of the library https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm6MmHPXM8Y  - well worth a watch.

I’m particularly pleased to see the deep marimba sampling…

Paul,

Quick question:

After this month's introductory sale, will the Synchron Percussion Bundle continue to be available, or is it just for October?

Paul,

Another question: are *all* the BBO percussion ensembles included in Synchron Percussion III, or just some?

Fantastic 3rd library in the Synchron Percussion collection! Major props to Maestro Andi and the whole team - bravo e brava! From everything I've listened to thus far, I'm in no doubt that Synchron Percussion is indeed the world's premier collection of orchestral percussion samples.

It appears VSL have taken smart advantage of the Covid-induced worldwide downturn in the movie business, by allocating very generous Synchron Stage A time to the production of this library (harking back to the golden age of rock superbands).

Looks like my bank account will get pretty skinny this year Lolol.

Paul,

In the Standard version of SYN Percussion III, is there any way to access the high, high surround, and surround mics for the BBO content that's included?

The answer is no.... But you can get the BBO D-F BEFORE you get Synchron Percussion III. They are now also available at special pricing.

Oops, I did it out of order!  Oh well.

I just have to say, SYN Percussion I-III is fantastic.  This is one of the most consistent, deeply sampled, functional libraries I've ever worked with.  What I particularly appreciate about it is that there are no frills: just really, really intricate and deep-sampled instruments as well as clean recordings in flexible mic positions that fit like a glove in a variety of applications.  Sounds great, works great, easy to use...This is a true workhorse, and I hope everyone at VSL is happy with how it turned out (I sure am!).

Hi All,

how detailed did you record the Windchimes?
Are there only Glissandi up and down or also Singletones that you can play on the Keys?

Thanks.

Hello LAJ!

At the following link you can see what has been recorded for the Wind chimes.

https://www.vsl.co.at/community/posts/t58049-NEW-Synchron-Percussion-III-and-special-deals-on-all-Synchron-Percussion#post305893

Velocity controls the speed and the dynamic level, because this goes hand in hand with this instrument.

We didn't record single tones. If you want that I recommend looking at Synchron Bells III. The rin bells might be exactly what you are looking for.

I've received a new 4TB SSD where to move all my VSL libraries. Ugh – it's not enough! I'll have to reserve one of the old 2TB drives to them as well.

Am I wrong, or the full Synchron Percussion + Power Drums collection takes 1.1 TB, or around that? This is a new idea of HUGE!

Hi,

1.1 TB sounds right. Yes, we like deep sampling!

Best,
Paul

So what is new versus already extant in the Cymbals part of this?

I see there is a Crashes ensemble, a big and small metals, which resemble the things in BBO I have.
Are these the same? All that was new in the Orchestral part of this was the Latin percussion and some birdcalls and whistles. I see there is a Sabian piatti, a sizzle cymbal and two splashes I don't have and probably the finger cymbals are new.

Hello civilization 3!

Most instruments in Synchron Percussion III are completely new. All solo instruments are new. The ensemble instruments come from the BBO collections Dorado, Eridanus and Fornax. On the instrument page in the instrument list these ensembles contain the word "Ensemble". So all instruments without this word are new.

Here they are.
5 Timpani (Adams, C2-C4, hit with a hard beater)
Field Drum (Aural)
Marching Snare (Yamaha)
Piccolo Snare (Kolberg)
Snare Drum (Aural Nut)
Boobams
Piatti (Sabian 20")
Sizzle Cymbal (Zildjian 18")
Splash Cymbals (Zildjian 8", 12")
Ancient Cymbals
Marimba
Temple Blocks
Cencerros
Hand Bells
Rin Bells
Jingle Bells
Flexatones
Car Horns
Warning and siren horns
Whistles
Bird calls
Slide Flutes
Jingle Ring
Congas
Bongos
Timbales
Cow bells
Agogo bells
Guiros
Sandpaper blocks
Claves
Cabasas
Wind chimes

Best regards,
Andi

thanks. I shoulda seen that right at the top, I guess I went straight to "content".

I'm torn between this sizzle cymbal and the 70cm Tam from II.
