  • [SOLVED] Breath Controller (CC2) issue in VIP

I have set up a number of VIPs in a VEP6 instance. I have set the Velocity X-fade to CC2 (breath contoller) to multiple instruments. I have connected VEP6 through Vienna Ensemble Pro Server (64 bit) to Digital Performer 9. In VIP the breath controller slider only responds if the corresponding track in DP9 is record enabled. Is this behavious expected? Intuitively, I would expect that each VIP in VEP6 would respond if I select it and set the Velocity X-fade to CC2.

    Any ideas?

  • Hi,

It´s "just MIDI". The signal arrives in your sequencer and is passed on to VE PRO, on the channel that you select.

  • Thanks Paul Does that mean that what I'm experiencing is normal and expected? I wasn't sure from your response. I tried the VIP standalone and set up three instruments and none of them responded to cc 2 when I selected that controller for velocity X fade. Could you confirm that that is what is supposed to happen. I appreciated your quick response. Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Yes, it can be expected that you will only receive MIDI in the virtual instrument that is set to receive MIDI from the specific channel you are playing live on.

Velocity XFade: Did you switch Velocity Xfade ON?

  • Yes, I switched on the Velocity x fade.

    Thanks. That explains things.
