Hi all,
I am looking at MIR Pro 24 as an environment solution.
I am a LITTLE confused about MIR Pro, MIR Pro 24, and MIRx.
MIR Pro 24 is limited to 24 instruments - i think.
Which is great as i will be creating small jazz/rock/classical ensembles.
I assume MIRx are simply SPACE LIBRARIES.
How does MIR and Ensemble Pro 6 overlap? Do they?
Is there any HOSTING/Networking ability in MIR Pro24?
I am in the middle of moving my studio, so i can't try the demo for another week or so.
I am thinking Room Pack 2 for my Fusion-esque style of compositions.
Any input appreciated.

Hello fred,
MIR PRO 24 is limited to 24 icons.
MIRx is a plug-in with VI/VI PRO that provides you with pre-arranged seating option (no other editing choices, only works with VI Collections).
MIR PRO is "only" a mixing reverberation engine.
VE PRO is our network host.
Here's a link to all software videos.
Hope that helps!

Hi Fred,
like Paul wrote. :-)
It is worth noting that Vienna Ensemble (which is a plug-in host) can be seen as the actual "homebase" of MIR Pro: The special features of this environment allow for direct communication between Vienna Instruments and MIR Pro, which is able to follow changes applied to instruments automatically. The "conventional" plug-in version of MIR Pro can be hosted diectly in the DAW of your choice and will give you the same sonic results, but many of the smart. semi-automatic moves mentioned before will have to be applied manually then.
One might add that the difference of MIRx and MIR Pro is much like the difference of a "ROMpler" and a sampler (assuming that you're familiar with this obsolete kind of 90ies studio lingo ;-D...). Both rely on massiv amounts of samples (i.e. impulse responses), but the "ROMpler" (MIRx) will offer little customisation options. - Here's a link to a forum thread that contains the comparison between the two products (you have to scroll down a bit):

Thank you both for the thorough answers.
MIR Pro 24 with Room Packs 1 & 2 seem like a great way to go for starters.
MIR Pro is the LAST piece of my puzzle for all my upcoming projects.
NAILS IT!

now, to figure out what instruments to add to my current baby-step Special Edition Vol. 1.
alas, another thread.
THANK YOU!
