Howdy Everyone,

I'm really scratching my head about this:

So I got it in my head that I could merge all 3 instances (each containing 16 channels of instruments)  into a single larger instance (combined would have 48/49 including the room tone),so that I can put them on the same virtual stage in MIR Pro (this results in a 48 instrument mframe project).

But for the life of me, I can't figure out how to map to the other 2 sets of 16 tracks.  Each MIDI Instance in my DAW has only 16 channels that are mappable.

Do I need to keep the earlier instances alive in the background to be able to map to them within the DAW? I'm guessing that I can't remove the earlier 16 channel instances, and just keep the larger instance that containes 48 instrument tracks?

Am I missing something?

One additional note: My DAW is Sonar 8.5.3 running Windows 64bit.

HELP!

AFAIK Sonar doesn't use VST3, so you can't do what you want.

Thanks DG.  After doing more research into it, you've hit it on the head.

Being able to handle multiple MIDI inputs within VE is a VST3 only capability. Sonar X3 now supports VST3 but not any earlier versions.

I'm back to running 3 seperate instances for now until I can afford to upgrade.

Best,

John

And, the VST3 implementation in Sonar X3 doesn't support multiple MIDI ports...

Thanks for the response guys,

Bill -- So which programs out there do support VS3 and are able to do multiple MIDI ports?
