Hi,

I 'm a composer
and I'm setting my studio. I have VSL special edition and Mac Pro 10.6.8 ( I use Finale 2011 for notation).
in ordere ti have a professional dimension of working, do you suggest me to use also a software sampler ? Which sampler is better ( kontakt? Gigastudio? Macfive?)

Any help will be appreciated....

welcome Francesca,

though GigaStudio was available for OSX for a short time it is no longer maintained (AFAIK even the activation of new installations does no longer work).

 

VSL never supported Mach V, but there may be other libraries available for this sampler.

 

so if you're intending to add some sampler it appears Kontakt would be the route to go since it is still under good maintenance.

and remember: a CRAY is the only computer that runs an endless loop in just four hours ...

 But don't forget the VSL comes with it's own sample player, so if you have VSL SE, then you're all set to go with that.
