So im trying to create a nice oboe piece but noticed that there is a pretty annoying hissing. This actually sounds like some unwanted noise from an old recording.
The next problem I have: the sound of the oboe trill performance legatos sound substantially different than the normal legato (as if they were badly eq´d). The legatos in general sound as if they are not properly connected. This is the only instrument where im having this issue.
Hearing the solo oboe from other developers it sounds clear. When checking live performances on youtube the legatos are clearly connected as expected.
Any tips?

I have never heard that hissing effect you mention, after many uses of the french oboe. Also the legato is very good. I would suggest you are using "global" legato setting which is the default, instead of "mono." This can screw up the sound of legato transitions depending on how it is played. This is only on the normal legato articulation as the performance trill is set to mono by default.
By the way this brings up the suggestion I have had for a basic programming change in Vienna Instruments - making the default for legato MONO and not GLOBAL. This was changed from the previous VI, but nearly always has to be set back to MONO for most situations.

My apologies William if I'm misunderstanding you but if by "GLOBAL" you mean POLY I agree. It's a real pain having to constantly go in and manually change it back to MONO all the time. I use MONO much more than POLY but that's just me. And William too aparently.
I realize that if you create your own templates you can leave it in mono and it will always go back to that but, for various reasons, I have to reinvite the wheel a lot.

Well Global is somewhat Poly as far as I can tell. I may be weird in this respect, but as you noted I also use made-up presets only so I notice it.
To me it almost is a moral principle to make up your own presets, since they are based intimately on the musical composition you are doing.
I just noticed that the first sentence of this post is a little weird also. Please don't take it the wrong way.

Global can be mono or poly. Cubase (OS agnostic). Various VSL bits and pieces.

But I play it mono even if its set to global so how does that affect the sound? I never use more than 1 note at a time so does it still matter? Maybe with fast passages?
