I am wondering whether the Vienna Ensemble (not pro) will get its retina update, just like what VEPro 6 did comparing to VEP5.

That's a great question. It would be great. I stopped using Ensemble because all those service windows, and having to manually raise the instances all the time really got on my nerves.

If I was to guess, I'd say there might be a Vienna Instruments Pro 3 coming up soon, and after that we might see the "non-pro" Instruments & Ensemble software package get updated as well.

Hello ShikiSuen,

The update for the standard Vienna Ensemble (non-PRO) will definitely take some more time (not scheduled yet).

Best,

Thanks for your reply. Hope that it will be available in this December since the current version has its standalone application crashes all the time under macOS Sierra.

Hello ShikiSuen,

Why don´t you send those crash reports under Sierra to , with a short reference to this thread.

Beta versions of OS X can be quite tricky.

Best,
Paul

This is the same code signing problem that was reported here:

http://vsl.co.at/community/posts/t41535-PSA-re--macOS-Sierra-and-VE-Pro-Server#post248599

To work around this problem you basically need to execute these two commands in a terminal session:

sudo codesign -f -s /Applications/Vienna\ Instruments/Vienna\ Ensemble\ Service.app/Contents/MacOS/Vienna\ Ensemble

sudo codesign -f -s /Applications/Vienna\ Instruments/Vienna\ Ensemble\ Service\ \(64-bit\).app/Contents/MacOS/Vienna\ Ensemble
