Please post your technical problems here! Due to the large variety of different browser specifications, some problems may occur. To solve these problems we´re asking you to give us your feedback. It´s very helpful if you mention the type and version of your browser, your operating system and of course the problem you have. Hope this thread is not going to be a too busy one.

Subject says it all. I find your instruments area great, but, unfortunately, it only works as expeted in Internet Expolorer. If we use Mozilla or Netscape (latest versions), this area do not work as expected.

Hi Tobi,

I have serious problems with the VSL website using Netscape 6.2.2 in Mac OS 9.2.2

When I try to go to any of the User Area pages, eg to Register my Performance set, look for downloads, I see the frame on the left with the "menu" of where to go, but the central frame is always blank.

I had to open IE 5 to be able to see anything, and when I tried to register, I got this message:

Mac OS 9.2 IE 5.0.
First page after comes up gives DHTML open cube not defined error.

None of the demo MP3s work anymore. Clicking the pop up window shows broken link that says I do not have a plugin to play format audio/mpeg (???) I do.

2ndly, clicking on the download mp3 now, does not download the mp3..but trys to embed it.

3rd, option clicking on the download mp3 now crashes browser (repeatable).

Next, the forum is now a very, very small window in the middle of the screen.
(the size of this reply window).

Been coming to this site for a while using same machine/browser/OS...no problems until now. Nothing changed on my end.

Yes, I also got this "open cube" error, but with IE5.x in Mac OSX.

At least the front page doesn't fill the whole screen any more - thanks.
(For me, the mp3's DID work by the way.....)

I'm still haviing issues with all the demos.

I did find, that after just waiting, the opus1 demo finally played.

But, all the older demos as well, used to work no problem in my same setup, now do all kinds of strange things.


Here's what I'm seeing,

When I went to the Vienna solo instruments demos, the window has 3 buttons at bottom, Play, open player, or download MP3.

All this used to work fine prior to the site update.

Now, I hit play, and my browser goes "forward" and displays a blue page with the only the stop button on it. (just the graphic of the button, it doesn't do anything or control anything)

Evenutally, doing nothing, the demo played.

I then used the back button in my browser, hit "open player", the pop up window opens with a broken plugin icon (that never used to happen) no player controls and the demo didn't play.

Then finally, I hit download MP3...nothing. Option click download MP3 and it causes IE to quite (error type 3).

As far as I can tell, the mp3s have not changed, everything "looks" the same in that part of the site as it used to, But, none of it's working for me anymore.

Any suggestions?

(my sys specs are in a post or so above)

I've changed nothing on my system.

thanks for this bug report.
we transferred the website on a microsoft server.
this might cause the problems since we didn´t change anything in the demos source code.
i fixed something with the play buttons for IE5. Hope there is no "forward" page any more.
think we´ll move the mp3´s to a streaming server the next days. this might help.

in the meantime i hope, that at least the play button will work on your system.

The "forward page issue" is fixed Smile thanks.

It plays, hitting play button. Sounds great.

2nd option of opening player..still does pretty much the same thing....broken plugin icon in the pop up window...but eventually you hear the demo play.

3rd option...download MP3...works but with a few caveats as compared to old site.

First, it starts to download the MP3, and I can see it in the status bar (bottom left corner of IE). Used to get like 120 to 170k a sec ...now getting about 20k a sec...could be something on my end, but overall this seems a lot slower than it used to be overall.

Second, is that the normal behavior for this option is..when the download finishes it opens a small "player" track window on top of my browser. It does this as excpected. However, the audio pops and clicks randomly. (didn't do this before)

audio thru other 2 methods is fine.

I'm assuming it's the same MP3 file it's accessing?

I'm not sure about this, but I seem to be noticing a different or I should say, additional file extension in the file name of the small track player that opens on my mac after using the dowload MP3 option and it finishes this process (ie..the progress bar with play control window that opens after the download is complete.)

It's has a ".pl" extension on the end of the file name (shown in title bar of player). I don't recall, If I'm remembering right, seeing this before. I mean, the play controler opens just as it did before..I just don't recall seeing a ".pl" in the title bar of it as an extension to the file name.

Could be wrong on that one, but thought I'd mention it, since that's the only play option that's having trouble with the MP3 playing properly (ie..popping randomly)

dfc, it's great to help us with such a detailed description. i think the perl interpreter on windows (.pl is a perl script) does not repond with the correct content type for macs. if tobi or one of the programmers cannot fix it, we will replace it with an appropriate .asp script

I'm using IE 6.0 and WinXP.

I log into the site. I post a message. I submit the message and I'm asked to log in again. Meanwhile everything I've typed disappears into the void. This has happened on several computers.

Hi guys, I'm trying to buy some horizon stuff and am having a lot of problems updating and saving my personal details and can't get past that page to order anything. I've tried 3 different times now but the order button takes me back to the personal details page with nowhere to go but "back" or "edit". Oh, the page also refuses to recognise me as female and keeps calling me MR amy. I'm running Mac OS 9.2.1 with Explorer 5.1. Any help would be much appreciated.

unfortunately i have to admit there are some problems with the page for your personal data - this is related to disabling the option to change the email address yourself.
a new page with some additional features is in the work but hopefully i've been able to solve the annoying *Ms.* bug quickly as well as repairing your record.

When I go to the 'User' page to log in, I get this error message after clicking the 'log in' button:

Microsoft VBScript runtime - Fehler '800a0009'
Subscript out of range: '[number: -1]'

I'm using Safari: Version 2.0.2 (416.13)

I'm unable to log in at all. If I click the Login button I'm transferred to the product registration page.

Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Safari 3.0.3 Mac OS X 10.4.10

Scrolling doesn't work with keyboard controls (e.g., up down arrows or space bar/shift-spacebar. Sometimes it does work but is not consistent how it starts working (haven't figured out what I did to make it work). But it mostly doesn't work. Scrolling using the scroll bars does work though.

This same issue on the iPhone (version 1.0.2 software). Can't scroll at all since the finger gesture doesn't scroll (for, I assume, the same reason as above). Since there are no scroll bars on the iphone then it is impossible to read the forums currently.
