  • Not able to hear VI sounds, just keyboard sounds

I'm not able to hear the VI sounds. When I choose one instrument, I always hear my keyboard sound. What can I do?

Thank you so much for your help with all my questions

  • Hello montreamm,

please give us a little more information on your system: sequencer, OS, soundcard and what you´re trying to do.

Basically you assign the Vienna Instruments as VST or AU instrument and then make sure that it gets MIDI from your Masterkeyboard. If your masterkeyboard also sends sounds, you have to turn it off, either on your mixer or within the settings of your masterkeyboard.

    Best,

  • yes-- and each instance of your Vienna Instruments must be assigned to an active audio output. Different sequencers work differently-- for example, in Digital Performer there is a rather fail-safe feature that forces the user to make the proper assignments first before a virtual instrument will instantiate at all. In other sequencers, the user must search each virtual instrument to determine which audio outputs have been disabled.

So, MIDI must be routed TO your virtual instrument (from your keyboard) and audio must be routed FROM your virtual instrument (to your audio interface).
