    I use Vienna Special Edition with Logic Gold 5.5.1 and all woks fine except one small thing. I make a song with some VI instances and save that in a logic song. when I restart logic and want to load this song, I get an error message that there is no vinna instruments to find!

    so I got a strange thought and saw in the vst plug in folder of logic. there a two different files: 1) vienna instruments.dll and 2) vienna instruments.cfg.
    If I delete the cfg file before I start logic again, all will work fine?!

    That could not be a serious solution, could it?

    any ideas how I can use Vi with logic more pleasantly?

    Hi Sebastian. I'd advise against deleting the .cfg. file unless you know exactly what it is, it may contain vital information which helps the Vienna Instrument to function. Try <reset & rescan all> in LogicĀ“s AU Manager, maybe it will help Logic find the VI.

    i have not a au manager, because I use logic with windows!

    thanks for your advise. I'm shure that the .cfg file is important, but I tried this option of course. after logic starts a new .cfg file will created.

    is there a known bug with logic? maybe the vsl team knows something about that?

    vsl team knows that logic is an apple brand since 2003 (prior ?)
    which means: unsupported !

    which means: no chance for us to provide a fix.
    which does not mean " it may _not_ work"

    btw: what r u running ? Win95?

    Hi ask-berlin

    I had the same problem. The solution is easy:
    In the Logic5/VSTplugins folder there's a file called

    Vienna Instruments.cfg

    Every time you finish Logic this files' content is deletet - 0kb in size.
    Just activate the writing protection for this file after a fresh installation of the plugin and the plugin won't disappear again [:)]

    I hope there is a only a misunderstanding, becuase it sounds as i'm not taken seriously!
    i know that i use an older version of logic, but 1. this version is still a great sequencer and 2. not every one who loves making orchestramusic have always enough money having a great equipment [:'(]

    I use just the VI special edition and not the cube...that has a reason! [:(]

    and here the real answer, i use xp pro with an 3400 amd cpu and 2 gig ram

    Good to know your problem is fixed. I admire you for sticking to the older version of Logic, stick with it if it works for you!
