Just forgot to say that the profile page doesn't seem to work... is it me doing something wrong???

  • hello roberto.
do you have a problem with single urls, or with entering the creation area?
does this url work for example?
    http://www.vsl.co.at/news/sample_counter.htm

    thanks

    Hello tobi,
    the fix is working fine!

    About the profile question:
I'm referring to the profile menu item in the forum page. I think it should provide a page to edit members' profile [;)] but it simply brings to the forum main page. (???)

About the menus in the demo section:
I understand the necessity to save some space free for future demos, still there should be a way to keep things together (isn't it a little bit strange that when you click on the "more demos" item on the left menu a pull down menu appears on the top menu??? [:)] I don't know... just think about people who are browsing in a hurry!

    Thanks for reading and answering!

  • hello roberto
    profile should work now.
    thanks again for the hint.
regarding to the menu. the link on the left is just an additionall button. the one in the second navigation level is supposed to be the first to click. but maybe it is a little bit confusing because for the moment there is only one. but there will be more content in this section soon.

    thanks
    tobi

  • aarrrgh!

sorry tobi, but profile is not working yet! it always leads to the forum main page!

BTW, I'm browsing the site in english (if this can help)

I'm a professional pianist and piano teacher but I'm also a passionate programmer since I was 13 on C64 (Basic, Assembler, C, C++, Pascal, ML, LISP, Smalltalk, and I can't remember what else I practiced on my own and at University...) and I know how desesperate one can be when something obvious doesn't work... it should work but it doesn't... though it should... ARRGGGHHH !!!!

    [;)]

BTW can you ppl remember the SID on the C64? We're galaxies far away from that 3 voices synth!!! though I had managed to build a basic 8 bit DAC using its parallel port and a collection of resistors and sort of 1 bit sampler from the tape (yes, 1 bit!!!)

OK this is way OT, just to say ...WOW it was 'only' 18 years ago!

  • hello roberto
    ????
The forum is in an ilayer, so this should be the real url. http://235.deatech.at/phpBB2/profile.php?mode=editprofile

if this is not working!!! ?? are you still surfing with your c64 ?

    thanks

    Hello tobi,

no, I sold my C64 years ago [;)]

The link you provided me works perfectly, but still I can't reach the profile editing page from the menu on the left. As I told you in my first post I'm on IE5.5 (Win98SE).

This is what the menu links to:

    http://235.deatech.at/phpBB2/login.php?redirect=profile.php&mode=editprofile

which is slightly different than what you provided me, then the page automatically redirect to the main one without displaying the profile edit page.

I've chosen to automatically login when I access this forum (in the profile settings) and also set my browser to remember Username/Password. Maybe this can be of further help!

Am I the only one experiencing the problem???

Thanks for answering, hope this helps,

    Roberto Rega

  • hello robert
don´t know what´s the problem at the moment.
do you allow cookies? this is a must for the login to work.
maybe the old site is still in your cache?
for the moment i think you´re really the only one with this problem.
if more user have this problem i´ll think of puting the profile button back into the main frame.

hope we can cope with this.
