  • Performance penalty for running VE at sample rates higher than 44.1?

Hi, I was wondering whether there was a performance penalty for running VE at sample rates higher than 44.1 since VE must be having to do real-time sample rate conversion? I searched the archives and couldn't seem to find a definitive answer. I understand that there's no additional quality to be gained, but I'm generally piping the output of VE into Digital Performer or PT sessions that are set at 48. I'd like to know if that's hurting VE performance enough to keep my master sessions at 44.1? Thanks, Jason

client: Mac Mini M1 8G OS 14.1.1 VE Pro 7.2.3388 server: MacBook Pro 2019 2.4Ghz 8-core i9 64G OS 14.0 VE Pro 7.3.3502 client <-> server dual NICs, dedicated 1000baseT connection, no switch, manual IP client + server on LAN via primary NIC using DHCP
  • basically the sample rate conversion is done by the host and/or ASIO/AU driver - quality and efficiency depends on them.
