  • pitch wheel setting

I am a new VSL SE+ user, and am using it  to play scores created in Sib (ver 5.2).

I have scores in sibelius with lots of pitchbend commands and realise that to get this to play back I go into Perform and

set the Pitch Wheel in Map Control.

However, the next time I load up the score I have to set the Pitch Wheel for each instrument individually again.

Is there any way of saving the configuration so that when I load up the instruments the Pitch Wheel  is set ?

I have tried doing Save Preset but have not so far succeeded in getting the pitch Wheel setting to be saved.

    thanks,

    Pete

  • The Pitch Wheel should be saved with a Preset. Best thing to do is set all the controllers that you like and save it as a startup Preset. This way whenever you load a new instrument, it will have all the correct mapping for the controllers.

To do this, load an empty instrument. MIDI learn (or use Map Control) all the controllers that you wish to use. Click Preset Click Save, and call the file startup. Make sure that you save it at the default level in your Custom Folder.

It has been a while since I had to so this, so I hope tat I've got it all correct. Good luck. [:)]

  • Thanks, it works !

  • DG, what you described is about VE? Alain

  • It works with both VI and VE. You just have to make sure that the startup Preset is in the correct folder.

  • DG Thanks... Do those tips that you bring like this are in the User manual? If not, why? ... Alain

The startup tip was certainly in the 1.1 VI manual. I can't say about later versions, as I haven't read the manual since. [:P]
