    Hi all,

    I think I may have discovered an issue with VE3 using Logic 8 connecting to multiple PC slaves.

    Lets say that I have a master template with a few slaves running different sections of the orch. If the PC that deals with Brass is switched off, I cannot load my template, Logic hangs when it reaches the VE instantiation.

    Can you guys reproduce this? Ideally, the default would be to instantiate but 'disconnected' so that you dont always have to have all your machines on if you dont need them for a track - but want to use a general template?

    Any feedback very welcome!

     This is the case here too - Logic hangs if the slave is not present, and it's a bit of a pain. For one thing it means you have to remember whether you're using a slave for the project. Can this be fixed in an update?

    The issue here is socket timeouts. When the song is loading up, the VE connector plugin will try to connect to a certain IP, and it will keep the socket open, waiting for a reply from the VE server. The timeout for this reply is rather long and depends on the underlying operating system. A similar experience can be had when trying to connect to non-existing smb or afp shares.

    It WILL however timeout after a certain time, so if you will just let it be - the sockets will timeout properly and your song will load up, leaving the connector plugin in a disconnected state.

    We are aware of the situation and will see what can be done to make this smoother.
