  • Cello glitch on VI Extended Edition

    Hi,

Has anyone else noticed a glich in the Orchestral Cellos legato patch? It's on note C2, and in the audio file that is triggered when you come to it from B1 (a semitone below).

Is there anyway of fixing it?

    Thanks in advance,

    Evan

  •  I don't understand. Cellos can't play any lower than C2, so why are you approaching it from B1?

Ah, sorry - an octave higher than that. (I think Logic has different numbers for the octaves!)

    Thanks

Ah yes, had you said Logic, I'd have realised. what you meant. :>)

Anyway, I'll check this out for you later today.

  • That's wonderful, thanks.

  • Hi DG,

Any luck in having a look at this problem?

    Thanks,

    Evan

Sorry, I didn't have time to look at this earlier. I can confirm that there is an electronic sounding spike/glitch in the left channel of the Orchestral Cellos, piano velocity on the following samples:

    1. B2, when approached from A#2
    2. C3, when approached from B2
    3. Db3, when approached from C3

I wonder if it is a loop point of some sort. No matter, it needs to be fixed, as the only workaround is to use a different patch.

  • Hi DG,

    Thanks for checking that out.

What's the best way of bringing this to the attention of relevant VSL people? Or do you work for VSL yourself?

    Thanks again,

    Evan

I would imagine that VSL will know already, having read this thread. However, by all means send an email to support, just to confirm things for them.

I don't work for VSL in any capacity. They couldn't afford me. [;)]

  • LOL!

    Will do.

    Thanks again.

  • Hi DG

Paul from VSL just emailed me re: this, and there's an update already which I didn't know about!

Thanks for that. I'm not sure that I have these updates.
