  • Vienna Suite Version 1.1 online - including new Convolution Reverb plug

I'm very happy to announce our Vienna Suite 1.1 release.

This version includes the new Convolution reverb plugin and hundreds of new Preset files.

You can download this new version here:

And we've also prepared a nice demonstration video, which can be found here:

  • Working great. Thank you VSL. One question. How do you load your own 4ch irs into this when they are two separate wave files. I tried control-clicking but it still only lets me load one at a time. Do they have to be named a certain way for it to pick up both stereo pairs?

  • Super sweet .. downloading now, been looking forward to the new Reverb since it was announced. Also the new presets. It's like xmas again.[:)]

  • Currently, the plugin expects 4ch wave files to work in true stereo mode.

  • So any hint how I can make that out of two stereo pairs? Or is that not possible? It's new to me.

  • Just use any audio editor, like Sound Forge or similar.

  •  Thanks guys - downloading now - this is great!

Hopefully I can permantently park the idea of purchasing altiverb.  Which reminds me, if any of you have altiverb and vs1.1 would you mind letting me know your thoughts on how the two compare.  Hetoreyn I think you have both, any comparssions you  can share?

    Best

    Tim

  • hey...great! I think the reverb sound great ...

In comparison to Altiverb, my first impression is that there is ALOT less mud in the lowmids, so you dont get a build up of resonance around 200-300KHZ like some of the altiverb impulses have a tendency to do.

The VSL Vienna Halls sounds very good, and to my ears is preferable over the Altiverb one.

BUT, the impulses here are only in one depth though, as opposed to altiverb. (mostly)

And offcourse there is not as many impulses as in Altiverb.

but i got the impression there would be the option to buy more impulses later....that sounds kewl.

But nontheless, the first impression was very very good.

    Surprisingly good actualy :D

i was a bit dissapointed that  there were no presets for either of the new dload instruments, Bb trumpet or basson2, but wtf, cant have it all, i guess.

The only bad news, is that it seems to use more cpu resources than Altiverb, but just a little bit.

maybe there are some settings to lower this, i dunno yet.

Good work VSL, and its free! yay!

  • Wow! Looks like the vienna suite is just what i need. [Y][H]

  •  Thanks Pzy-clone

  • wow, the reverb sounds awsome, even in direct comparasion to the altiverb I think the VSL reverb does better! If that sound gives a hint to the upcoming MIR technology, then I am looking forward to this even more than before! Thank you so much!!

  • VSL Support

I have a PPC 2.5Ghz PPC G5 computer and tried to download Vienna Suite 1.1, only to find that PPC Macs are not supported.  I downloaded the software only to find that not only do you not get the Reverb plugin it also disables Atliverb as well.  All the new presets were there though. So I had to uninstall 1.1 and reinstall altiverb 6.3.1and VS 1.0.

When are PPC Macs going to be supported for Vienna Suite 1.1?

As an interim solution, if I cannot have the new convolution reverb how about at least being able to update the other 8 tools and their new presets.

Rather annoyed not being able to update VS at this stage.

Vienna Suite v1.1 does support PPC, only the convolution reverb is not supported.

  • Have to say boys .. well done. The Convolution Reverb is f**king awesome. I ran a recording of mine through just a basic preset and it totally sounded like a REAL room. I'm VERY happy about this. Altiverb has been pissing me off for ages and since I won't be able to run MIR for a long time this is a great reverb. Whole heartidly reccomend it to anyone .. and I will.

Will also try to review for the podcast (yeah I know .. I'm dragging my ass on getting the next one out), with some demos.

    Hi mirabile,

I just inserted Altiverb 6.3.1 after installing Vienna Suite 1.1 on my PPC G5 4x2,5 without problems!

Are you sure it was the Vienna Suite installation, which actually disabled Altiverb on your system?

As MS already stated, these are completely independent pieces of software!

Can you explain a little more what in fact happened with Altiverb?

    Best, Marnix

  • Hello everyone, if I had to use more than one reverb plugin in my DAW, with different settings, BUT all using the same convolution patch. Will this double/triple, etc... the CPU power/ RAM and all other resorces, or it acts just like when loading the same patch in VI?

I'm not surprise to see numerical sound mentioned in there. Their impulses are the best I've heard until i watched your video demontration last night. I'm VERY exited.

I'm wondering, is this reverb and impulses base on the MIR project? Cause tha sound remeinded me off the MIR demo I've heard. I'm just curious really.

I'm so happy to see this devellopement.

    Thank you guys.

  • What are some of the best IR libraries that you could recommend to buy and use within VS reverb?
