A while ago I was asked to do some orchestration for a Disney project. We knew the project was going to be low budget, and that there were a select number of slots. Literally 100s of writers were trying to get on this album, and I managed to co-write with a few other producers, one that I knew in LA from long ago before he moved there. (Connections matter)
Anyway, it turns out that this CD is a tie-in to The Princess and the Frog. It's not the actual soundtrack but more of a supplemental soundtrack. And finally it's being advertised!
I dont' know if I'm credited anywhere, but hopefully I'm in the liner notes. I was responsible for all orchestration, and chord structure. In fact I wrote that before the lyricist came in and started writing the overall melody. Part of the melody is influenced by the orchestration as well. I engineered the strings and woodwinds, which was later touched up more by the studio.
For those interested, for the orchestration I used:
Logic
VSL Appassionata Strings I
VSL Woodwinds
EWSO Choirs (very light influence using overall chorus and boy choir)
Piano was initially sampled, but then tracked using a piano in LA, which had MIDI input.
Vocal Engineering, Mixing, and Mastering by Steve Sundholm.
So feel free to go out and buy a copy!
...heart...pounding.
EDIT: My apologies for misleading everyone, but I only helped orchestrate ONE track. Which is "Dare to Dream"
I thought I had posted that in my initial post, but I guess I didn't.
