  • MIR In Boot Camp

    Hi

I'm sure this is well trodden ground but has anybody used MIR with Boot Camp yet?  I'm on a 2 x 2.8GHZ Quad-Core with 10GB of Ram.  I do all my work in Logic.

Can I use MIR in Boot Camp whilst working on Logic in Snow Leopard, or am I being an idiot?

    Answers on a postcard please.

  • maybe a basic misunderstanding: you can boot either OS X _or_ windows via bootcamp, so unless you have 2 macs you can't run logic + MIR at the same time - virtual PC solutions (eg. parallels) do not work for such a setup.

basically you can run MIR on a macPro using bootcamp, the performance you get will depend on the hardware specs (i.e. dual vs. triple channel memory, 54xx vs. 55xx XEON)

btw. bootcamp for windows 7 has been released today, but 64bit is only supported on macPros from 2008 or newer, iMacs + macBook Pro end 2009 or newer, 10.6 is a precondition
