  • Understanding Ensemble / Pro Server (new formated) :-)

    Hi,

after month of working and handling with ensemble pro, I must say that there are some basicly things, I cant understand.

So I hope, that someone can help me to understand some things better, in working with Logic and Ensemble Pro...

(MacPro Intel, 8Core, OSX 10.5.8, Logic 8, single Computer working!)

    What I did:

    1. before starting Logic, I start per hand "pro server 64bit"

    2. I generate 2 multi instruments in Logic - one for orchestra and one for percussion

    3. I made in both instances my setup for the instruments so far, everything is fine and works perfect for me.

But... When I say "hold in mem" for the both Instances and close my actual work, and start a new session with another job the problems beginns...

    1. sometimes, the string instance is connect perfect, automatically - sometimes not!

    2. and the percussion instance dont connect every time!

    3. when I press the connect button there are no Instances listet in available slaves - and no (local host) is to see

    4. when I disconnect the string instance and try to connect it again, the instance list is emty too!!

But the two Instances are loaded in Pro Server!

It looks like, that Im not able to understand the workflow with ensemble pro!

In the manual (german one) of ensemble pro, there stand on page 4 under single computer setup:

"this is the easyest one, only install and ready."

But in real life, I must start "pro server" first to work with my single setup!

And this is only the first thing, that makes me confuse!

Is there anyone, who can explane me step by step, how all these fine things woks together perfect?

    Thanks for help, Jörg

  • Did you try with Pro server 32 bit !

Your system IS NOT 64  bit, you need Mac OS X 10.6 and Logic 9.1

    MacBook Pro M3 MAX 128 GB 8TB - 2 x 48" screen --- Logic Pro --- Mir Pro 3D --- Most of the VI libs, a few Synch... libs --- Quite a few Kontakt libs --- CS80 fanatic
  • Thanks for ur words.

I started the pro server 32bit (4481) and load my metaframe with both instances.

    But its the same prob!

I see the two instances in the server window, but when I click "Connect" in Logic / server interface, everything is blank.

No available slaves, no slave hostname, etc......

And when I generate a new EP instr in Logic, and try to connect with the instances, its all blank too, looks like no server is started!!!!

    Any idea?

    Thanks,

    Jörg
