  • A few quick questions

Hi I am very excited about the new possibilities with VI Pro. It seems too good to be true!

I have a few quick question.

In VI Free, I saved and loaded my Presets from a folder other than the default folder, which is:"
"C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\VSL Custom Data" by using the File menu. I actually saved my presets on a completely different drive.

VI Pro does not have a file menu in Standalone mode. Does that mean it is only possible to save a preset to the default "VSL Custom Data" folder and not anywhere else like on a different drive when in Standalone mode?

For VI Pro, in Plugin mode, this is not a problem because I can use the generic VST menu to save presets anywhere I want

    Another question I have is:

For downloaded instruments, is it OK to delete the Cab files and info file after the data has been installed?
And if i need to reinstalled if my machine goes down, can I just copy the .dat to my Vienna folder and scan it with directory manager or do I have to install using the cab file and the Library Installer?

    Thank you

Yes, that´s the state of affairs atm, it has also been discussed here. You can always copy your custom presets to this new location.

Yes, you can delete the *.cab files after you have installed the instruments, they will stay available for you. You can backup and copy the *.dat-files wherever you like.

    Best,
