Hi

I just upgraded to Cubase 6 and I have a wierd thing going on with my expression maps in existing projects:

In my score a have Con Vib on Flute 1 and 2 and also the Alto Flute - yet it triggers the Legato patch. Checking the map its states that Con Vib is sending #D which corrosponds to the SusVib patch - but the outcome is #G which corresponds to the Legato Patch ( patch 9 in the horizontal dim.). This is what happends if the Con Vib. is at 01:01:000.

Mmoving the Con Vib instruction slightly forward ( >01:01:000) will cause it to issue an A key instead( patch 10 in the horizontal dim.) - even more mysterious!

I have checked for any transposing etc. - also the default patch seems to be patch 3 ( D key ) to which it correctly resets at stop.

Has anybody experienced anything like this? Any suggestions as to what maybe wrong?

thx

Best regards
Bjarne

Hello Bjarne!

Having notes at the very start of a score (1:1:1:0) can cause problems with the Expression Maps. I recommend moving the first note one tick back. Also please notice that "Direction" articulations like Con Vibrato do always have to be placed before a note.
G#1 is the switch for legato and A1 for legato con vibrato. For some instruments only one legato articulation was recorded. In this case both cells (G#1 and A1) include the same patch. If you don't want legato to be triggered, you will either have to remove the legato articulation from your articulation lane or to switch back from legato use the non legato articulation.

Best regards,
Andi

 Hi Andi

Thx for the instructions - the #G and A are indeed the same patch for flutes. What puzzles me is that in the map setup the con vib.  is setup to send a #D keyswitch - which does point to the Sus_Vib patch, and I have no other direction or articulation on the lane, but Con Vib.

Best regards

Hi Bjarne!

That's strange. If you want to, you can send your Cubase project to  support and I will take a look at it.

Best,
Andi
