  • Can't load VSTi? - Am I missing something?? - RESOLVED

    Hi,

    Please see this thread:

    http://www.vi-control.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20533

Basically I have tried everything I can think of to load 3rd party VST's into Vienna Ensemble but it just doesn't seem to work. I have set all the paths I can see and none of it seems to make a difference. I am using the demo licence and have already used about 7 starts just trying to figure this out.

  • Your link takes me to a login page. Can't help you from that. [;)]

  • Ah I see Off Topic section is restricted unless you're logged in.

    I'll paste my latest post:

just loaded it up again and I still don't see what I'm supposed to do.

In Preferences I click on "plugins" and nothing is there, so I click "vst settings" and I see where I have selected 2 vst plugins folders. All i can do then is close that menu.

If I go to Directory Manager I see a long list of paths to including Kontakt. All I can then do is close that menu and it says I need to retart for it to take effect, but nothing happens when I do that as I say.

If I click on VST settings I can see the two folders I set for my VST's. All I can then do is close that menu.

    I don't get it Sad

    Hello Ed,

Here is a video on "How to use the Directory Manager".

Regarding VST settings on PC: What would you like to do? Do you have your plug-ins in more than 2 VST Folders?

You can always send screenshots with a description of what you´d like to do to

  • I'm taking to Paul over email but just in case anyone else knows... here is a screenshot of my settings in VE PRO:

  • I posted this on VI-Control too, but just to make sure you see it:

Ed, under Options -> Preferences -> Plugins there should be a button at the lower right labeled VST Settings. Click on that, add the folder(s) where you have instruments, and click Rescan All.

If that's not there then you have a corrupted installation.

  • According to your screenshots, you're trying to load 32bit Kontakt into 64bit VE Pro. Not going to happen, I'm afraid. use the 32bit server, or a 64bit version of Kontakt.

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhh

Oh man I selected Cubase SX3 not Cubase 6's vst plugins folder! How could I miss this!

But I think now it should work now!. Thanks :D
