    Isolated dynamics repetitions
Single layer long notes (pp, p, mf, f)

  •  Hi Patrick,

this "Isolated dynamic repetitions" are alternative mappings of our dynamic performance repetitions.

For example staccato repetitions. The Oboe player performed in one recording a staccato performance of 9 notes starting with ppp going up to ff on each key. All different notes are sliced and you can trigger them note by note on your sequenzer.

If you don't need repetitions but want to select a certain dynamic step of these patches we offered these "isolated mappings". So you can perform for example just the 4rd note of the original recorded pattern, which offers a kind of mp.

By the way, if you own VI PRO you don't need these alternative mappings, you can load the original performance dynamic repetition patch and can enable just the notes you need. This worklow is featured the tutorial video "Performance Repetitions – Pick and Mix your Favorites"

    which you can find here:

Single layer long notes are also alternative mappings of the regular sustain patches. Just one sustain of a certain dynamic is mapped to a dedicated patch. These patches are useful if you want to layer different articulations. For examples staccato samples with sustains, and you want just a piano layer for the sustains and the full velocity rage for the staccatos.

Also here VI PRO is more versatile and you can work with the regular sustain patches. Enabling velocity Xfade on the sustain patch, and no velocity Xfade set to staccato offers a similiar, maybe an even more flexible approach.
