  • yet another question about a two computer setup

Hello. I'm sure this has been asked many times before, but I've done a lot of searching and can't quite find the answer to this specific question:

My VSL libraries are currently on an internal drive of my macpro. I've just bought a Macbook Pro. I'm aware of the procedure for copying samples to a new drive, running Elicensor etc. However, I'd like to know if its possible to still have the option to run it on the macpro, for current jobs and ones that don't require 2 computers?

Please note I don't want to run them on both computers simultaneously, I realise I can't do that. But can I choose which computer to use at any one time, either by swapping the dongle or buying a new dongle?

If it is a case of just swapping the dongle, does that mean the pathways in the Directory Manager are stored in the software and not the dongle, or will I have to reset pathways every time I swap?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Carl

  • Just move the dongle to the computer you need it on. You should  only have to run DM once for each computer, and to answer your question, this information is stored locally, not on the dongle.
