  • French Horn (for example)

I have SE and SE+. Strings are good, woodwinds are fine, but the horns are limited. There is are two ensembles with a small set of articulations. Does VSL make a French Horn add-on that includes solo and small ensemble with a full set of articulations? What does it cost? I thought there were individual instrument add-ons but I do not see this on the VSL site. Maybe I'm not looking in the right place. Thanks.

  • You should look under Download instruments

    http://www.vsl.co.at/en/211/496/816/954.vsl

Most instruments can purchased there with full set of articulations, and you get good discount when you already have special edition.

E.G.: You can get French Horn (solo) or also Horn Ensemble there with full list of articulations

    Best regards

    Gabriel

  • Thanks, Gabriel. While I would love to have every possible VSL instrument, I cannot justify the price, so I am going to build on the SE and SE+ as needed. I appreciate the link. When I look there, though, the text mentions individual instruments, but I do not see a place to find the prices or add to cart.

  • When I go to that link and select "Triple Horn" I see the price on top. And when I'm logged in with ma email address I even see the discount I would get.

  • Got it now, thanks. By the way, some of the individual instrument prices are pretty reasonable considering the complexity of producing them.

  • I totally agree. The new extended Libs allow you to buy exactly what you need for reasonal (upgrade) prices.

Yes and no. I'd like to see some sort of string download. If VSL every made a Strativeri Violin that was a download instrument, like a trumpet 2, a full fledged instrument... that would be great. Violin and Cello are the most frequent for soloing and many users would rather buy  those than a full solo string library.

I would love to see a Viola d'amore from VSL!!
