  • Converting OSX slave to PC slave - VEP5 AU to VST?

Just checking before I do all the manual work..

Don't suppose there is a way to convert a Mac VE Pro 5 metaframe (AU)

to a Win 7 VE Pro metaframe (VST)

I want an identical copy of a large template, going from OSX to WIn7

    thanx

  • This will work, but any 3rd party AU's used in the project will be discarded.

  • So if I have some Kontakt and Play instances they will not work? That's what I thought and what I see.

I was really expecting to do this manually so no worries, but a convert AU to VST would have been a dream this week ;=)

    Thanx anyway!

  •  I wonder it VEP supported VST on OSX whether or not this would be made easier. One can only hope...

  • I asked for this as well (VST support in OSX) because I have plenty of sessions in Windows that I want to convert to Mac.  Unfortunately, I'd have to go in to Windows and save each VST plugin's preset then load them individually in OSX.  That can be a lot of work for large projects, but currently the only way.

I hope VE Pro can support VST in OSX soon, to avoid me having to convert 200+ sessions.

  • I recently did the same thing. One word of caution...bootcamp doesn't support AHCI, and so you may suffer serious drive performance issues. I did. I went poking around the internet and found a hack that allows bootcamp to force an AHCI driver. It worked, for the most part, although I'm still having some issues with my drives in bays 3/4 of my mac pro. P.S. Without AHCI, your SSDs (unless they are directly in your PCIe slots) are pretty much useless.
