Just Installed VI PRO - Now Final Cut will not open! HELP!

I just installed VI PRO VE PRO - I did the whole eLicensing thing for for the install. All is good. However . . . . when I launched Final Cut Pro it included Vienna Suite MCFACT when booting up and eLicense Control ERROR came up stating there is no valid license for this application. How did FCP get involved with VI and/or eLicense???? Never did before. I am unable to launch FCP now due to these NEW error messages. What up????

Hi Ken,

I had a very similar issue but with the Vienna Suite. I contacted the VSL Support team but they did not actually find a solution at the time.

In case what they suggested to me helps you, here was the message:

Do the Vienna Suite plug-ins work normally in a DAW on this same computer?

Do you have an elicenser with a valid license for Vienna Suite connected to this computer?

If everything else fails, please move the Vienna Suite plug-ins out of /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components/ and /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/VST/ - this should ensure that you can at least launch Final Cut Pro.

If this is the only solution, I will have to investigate further to find what might cause your problem here!

Hi Ken, 

That´s a relict of the Vienna Suite Demo you have installed at some point. 

Please uninstall Vienna Suite (there is a separate uninstaller for it on OS X, on Windows: Please use the usual uninstallatio routine) and everything will be fine again.

Thanks for the tip. Where do I place these items after removing them as you suggested. Don't I need these to run my Vienna Suite in Sibelius and Logic??

Hi Ken, 

I couldn´t find a demo or permanent license for Vienna Suite on your account. Unfortunately it is a known problem with FC PRO that our plug-ins are not scanned correctly. 

So if you have a license, the best idea is to move the plug-ins out of the plug-in folder (to any other place) when starting FC PRO, and move them back in when using all other programs.
