I downloaded Dimension Violins to an external (portable) harddrive connected to my Notebook. When connecting the external harddrive to my DAW (which is not connected to the internet) and clicking on package.info I get the message "Mismatched format in the installer specification file".

Any suggestions?

Kind Regards

Hi Thinwood,

Did you update all VSL Software and the eLCC software?

Another reason could be that you are working with an older Download Manager... the latest version is available in your User Area! You can easily download and install this newer version (quit the old Download Manager first).

It will replace the old Download Manager and keep all files available.

Best,

Paul

I updated all VSL-software and the eLCC before. I also used the latest Download Manager for the download. After all, the download to my portable harddrive went fine. However, when connecting the harddrive to the DAW and double-clicking on the package.info-folder I get the error message mentioned before.

Do I need the Download Manager to install the libraries or is it okay to directly double-click on the package.info-file?

Is it a problem not to download directly to the DAW and to try to install without using the Download Manager?

Kind Regards

Hi,

You always need to launch the LIBRARY INSTALLER to install a library (it will ask for the "package.info" file in the installation process).

The Library Installer is built in the Download Manager automatically, but of course you can also use the Library Installer that comes with the latest software.

Thank you, Paul. That was just what I was going to write, as I came across it a few minutes ago. So sorry for the confusion. However, one can get lost between all these Download Managers, Library Installers etc. from tome to time. Haven't added a library recently...

Have a nice weekend!

Hi,

No problem. I agree, it can be confusing - and we´re doing our best to make it easier Smile

Is it weekend already?

Best,

Paul
