  • Two different velocity-handling settings in one preset?

My wish is "one" preset with the following matrix: keyswitch A0 until B1 = short articulations = matrix keyswitch C#1 keyswitch A0 until B1 = also long articulations = matrix keyswitch D#1 I chance short and long with C#1 and D#1. So far so good! But my problem is that I wont to use the "velocity for the short articulations" and the "MOD-Wheel for the long articulations" to chance the Sound an Volume. I understand, this is not possible, because the I cant use two different Preset-Settings in one instance of the Vienna Instruments. Is this correctly? So I have to load two instances? I use Cubase 7 and no Vienna Ensemble. Thanks!

DG means you should upgrade to VI PRO, which can handle your needs perfectly using one instance.

  • I have PRO!

  • Herb, I thought that with the regular player update, you could set velocity xFade on and of on a patch basis, as well as in the Pro version?

In any case if you have Pro, go to the Advanced tab and then read the manual. You able to set XFade on or off or global for every patch in your matrix or Preset.

Edit: Yep, just checked it. VI manual page 16, VIP manual page 40. Bazinga....!  [;)]

  • This is not helpfully. I wrote the manual. Maybe my English is to bad: My question was: is it possible the main-velocity-concept inside one instance to chance. But now I think it will not work.

  • What don't you understand? Maybe I don't understand your question, but you have a choice on a Patch basis to set Xfade on, off or Global. This means that you can set XFade on for long patches, such as legato, and off for short patches such as staccato. I don't really see what else I can say. If you can't understand the manual, you will need to find someone who can translate it for you, because I can't explain it better. Alternatively you can contact support@vsl.co.at and they can explain it to you in German.I don't speak German. Sorry.
