  • [SOLVED] VEP shows CPU Usage 99%, WIndows shows only 40%

Hi there to the VSL Comunity! I have a problem with my VEP Software. It shows, that the CPU usage is 99%, so it doenst work very well and everything sounds awfull and some instruments stop playing. But Windows shows me, that there is only 40% usage of my CPU. Where is the mistake, how can I activate the power of my CPU, so that VEP realize that! I'm looking forward to an answer :) Cheers Michael :)

  • VEP can utilize any number of CPU cores you have availiable. You can set the number of cpu cores under "Preferences" on the VEP Server application.

  •  As far as I know the percentage display in VE PRO does not show CPU exclusively, it's a kind of overall efficiency display also including performance of hardrives etc. So when VE PRO goes over 95% than you reach the performance limits of your system generally.

  • Yes this is correct. The ASIO meter takes more than CPU performance into consideration. But if VEP is left at it's default core/thread setting (2?) and you have 4/6/8 core CPU, VEP will show a maxed out CPU meter as soon as that one core (2 threads), has reached it's limits. So try increasing the number of threads availiable to VEP.

  • Problem solved. Thanks! :)
