  • loosing connection to vep5?

that's what i think is happening, but maybe not.

i have logic 9.1.7 on a mac 3.0 dual quad and core vepro5 build 5.1.12010 on two pc slaves and one mac 2.8 8 core slave.

the pc's work great but the mac seems to "sort of" loose connection with logic. i say "sort of" because it will sound distorted with clicks on pops

when vep is playing notes in a sequence in logic but if i play intstruments in vep directly from logic (as in recording midi) there is no distortion.

i can't seem to resovle the issue by disconnecting/ re-connecting. the only way to resolve it is to re-boot logic and vepro. if i re-boot only logic

it does not work, i have to do both.

this has been going on for years thought many vepro versions and mac os versions. my reason for asking now is that sometimes i can't even resolve it by re-booting.

    any ideas?

    <edit>  running decoupled.

    thanks much,

    dan
