So I bought the Bass Clarinet this morning.  10 hours later and I have 18 per cent downloaded.  The ETA shows around 6d....

I complained about this the last time I downloaded a library (Cor Anglais).  It's utterly amateur.  Please sort it out.  I'm a pro user.  By the time I've got this file downloaded I'll have already had to submit my pitch.

Any other library that I use has solid fast downloads - Spitfire, LASS, Sonic Couture, etc etc...

You're letting yourselves down with this continuing problem.

No, you are,  jim_2256

You might look at your own internet connection for this problem.  It is that, I guarantee,  because far bigger downloads like Dimension Cellos are very fast from their servers.

Perhaps you should investigate what other people are saying about d/l speed before making a completely unhelpful remark.

VSL acknowledged this problem last time I had it and provided a private link.

Seriously, if you can't think of a constructive comment then don't bother posting.

best wishes

In fact "Private Links" have  to be supported when the internet-providers of our users are limiting download speed of the regular torrent-based file format. In that rare cases we offer alternative download formats.

So what are other people saying Jim?  I think I would classify as "other people" and I haven't had a problem with download speeds.  Am I in the minority?

You've obviously never run a company.

When an established client who has spent thousands of pounds and has the potential to spend thousands more highlights an issue with your infrastructure you should consider that useful criticism.  When your competitors provide slicker and faster systems you should take note.

I have no idea why you've taken it upon yourself to pitch in here.  You have no interest in my issue and no ability to do anything about it.  I need a Bass Clarinet and what I've got is a demented piccolo twittering away somewhere in the wings.

Hi jim_2256,

We have provided an alternative download for you, as it seems like your provider is keeping your download files from finishing (this is very rare).

Here is the link to a list of all single cab-file downloads - this is not as convenient as the download manager but using another protocol:

1) Please download all files, unzip the package.info file and drag all cab files into this new folder.

2) Install the latest VI PRO Software and launch the LIBRARY Installer

3) point it to the package.info file in this newly created folder

4) Follow the installation dialog :-)

Sorry for the inconvenience, we know that there is always space for improvement!!

Please let me know when your download and installation is finished, so we can free our server from this data.

Of course we will provide you with such a solution anytime, please request it via a short email to

Best,

Paul

Jim, if you're going to come into a forum where you haven't made any posts and suddenly begin to complain about the owners of the forums with a rude and condescending tone about a problem that others are not experiencing, don't be surprised if people take issue.  As always VSL is obliging and professional and have given you an answer in a timely fashion.  This really didn't need to be a public statement from you instead of a support email, especially if VSL's assessment of the situation is correct and the issue lies with your internet provider.  When you make insulting statements you hurt your chances of getting help in the future when you have a question that a user may be able to answer.

Thanks Paul.  Much appreciated.

The Bass Clarinet is now being put to work and it sounds great.
