  • Turning off Velocity in VI PRO 2.4

Is there a way to turn off Velocity Sensitivity in VI PRO? Same as we do on keyboards, to not be sensitive to the keyboard touch on how hard or soft we play. The reason is, some of the Instruments are very low, you have to really hit hard to get some sound out of it but sometimes certain melodies or playing techniques wont allow you to hit harder. Any tip would be appreciated. Thanks

  • Hi BasariStudios,

You could switch on Velocity Xfade and set it to the maximum level.

I´d rather change the relation of the mix or use a compressor or limiter to increase the volume of a certain instrument.

  • Hi again,

Another option to reduce Velocity Sensitivity is to set the "Dynamic Range" slider to a smaller value.

  • Thanks Paul, the reason i am asking is sometimes the difference is very big and i dont really feel comfortable playing with Dynamic Processors on some of the passages. I won't necessarily shut the whole sensitivity Off but probably reduce it a little. You helped a lot, was what i was looking for.
