  • audio tracks silent with VEPro.

Hi, I have a piece which uses VE Pro that I did some years ago. I use Cubase. If I want to hear the audio tracks of this piece, I have to switch off VEPro within Cubase and to restart VEPro by reclicking on it ( still within Cubase ). Else only the midi tracks are working. It only happens with this piece. Since quite a long time I use MIR as a plugin with Cubase and not VEPro so I may have forgotten something. Thanks.

    Hi brunojul,

ThatĀ“s strange, but I donĀ“t know what could be causing this. Which version of VE PRO, on which OS? Is MIR PRO part of the VE PRO setup?

What are you clicking exactly? The VE PRO Server Interface plug-in? Do you have to connect to the VE PRO Server?

    Thanks for more details!

  • Thanks Paul! I have the last version of VE PRO I think, Windows8 and MIR PRO is part of the setup. I start the VE PRO Server before Cubase7, and then while Cubase plays I have to click on the VST Instrument "VE PRO ENSEMBLEx64" ( the symbol within Cubase ) first for stopping it and reclick and this time I can also hear the audio files.

  • ok, first: is the key editor in focus while you aren't hearing it, and this 'click on the VST instrument symbol' takes you out of it?
If so, the actual cause may be that you have selected 'solo' there, which means you only hear the virtual instruments keyed off of that editor.

  • There is no key editor (score?) since these are audio tracks. Or do you speak of the score editor for the midi tracks? In that case I don't know how I could have selected "solo" for these. Within Cubase or VE PRO? Thanks!

  • Well, there was no way to know you weren't additionally using the key editor (piano roll). The solo button is there in score editor as well. There have been times it was on by accident here.

  • that will cause audio tracks to be silent, seemingly inexplicably. I don't know anything else that would do that, but it seems like refocusing on VEP seems to be a cause while the reality is you have moved from the focus on say score editor which could be the real cause.

  • No, there is no problem with the score editor, I've checked all of them. But I think I have finally found the reason. It was an issue with the outputs of VE PRO which apparently were not activated, by activating all of them, even those that I don't need, it did the trick. I also changed the location of VE PRO which was under OUT 1/2 and above OUT 3/4, OUT 5/6, etc...and put it above OUT 1/2.
