Hello,
May I ask what the technical reason is for VE Pro running on slave machines to take so long to get their data across to the master machine when saving? This doesn't appear to be an issue when hosting only Vienna Instruments, but it really is a huge bottleneck when hosting (e.g.) instances of EastWest Play. With two slave machines, it takes me four minutes to save a project in Logic or Cubase at the moment. I appreciate the Preserve and Decouple features are supposed to help with this, but it would be do nice not to have to rely on these, as it's so easy to get projects into a right mess if you forget to switch them off before saving!
The reason I ask is mainly out of interest, as VE Pro is able to send data at a very fast rate in order to get all the MIDI and audio over the network when playing back, yet at most we must be talking a few hundred MB of data for each machine being sent across for the save process; why does this take so much longer in comparison?
Thanks!
Michael
