  • Violin Concerto in D Major (Vivaldi) - MuseScore

MuseScore is a great open-source notation software. I tried to play a score from the Violin Concerto in D Major (RV 204 Op. 4 n. 11), arranged by Mike Magatagan (available here: http://musescore.com/mike_magatagan/scores/537711).

It just uses the staccato solo strings. I tried to change articulations but I don't know how to change in the matrix (I can use the keyswitches for the horizontal patches, but I don't know how to edit in Logic Pro X the vertical patches). I'd like to change to Perf-rep spiccato in some repetitions.

    Happy New Year!

  • Hello Matteo!

You can set up how to switch between cells on the vertical axis under "Y-Axis" in the Vienna Instruments player. For the Special Edition matrices CC1 (Mod Wheel) is used by default.

Best regards and a happy new year,
    Andi

  • Thank You Andi!

I prefer keyswitches because I "write" the relative note in the sequencer (Logic). But then I must write two notes (one for the vertical and one for the orizontal axis). I should see how I can "draw" the Mod Wheel in the sequencer.

  • The rendition is just awesome!

just one comment: at some points like in 00:48 seconds you may want to use stacatto instead of detache, which I assume you had used. detache somehow doesnt work that well for very fast passages.

It tells you how wonderful these VSL solo strings samples are!

  • Hallo, thanks for your opinion.

I already use the staccato in this movement, with some exceptions by the long notes. You are right, the Detaché would sound too long for the fast passages.
