Hello,
Does VI Pro accept the standard panning from CC10? Or is it ignored?
Thanks,
Iain

There is a devious way to get VI Pro to pan with CC10, certainly not conventional panning, but it will work.
Make sure MIR is OFF - it will not work with MIR on
Put the same patch on slot A and slot B
unlink the panners, and pan 1a hard left and 1b hard right
reassign SLOTX in the Ctrl Map to CC10 (make sure the curve is linear)
and there you have panning via MIDI CC10
it's probably not worth the effort though, as orchestral players tend not to move around the stage when they are playing !
VI, pro or not, isn't made to pan like for instance Kontakt is.
In VE Pro, you can make CC10 automate the balance parameter. IE: pan is a property of mixing and that isn't included in the same way in Vienna Instruments. As mentioned, the expectation is not that the performer is moving about onstage.
I can use the normal pan in the mixer console (in VE Pro) but I assmue that can't be automated either?
The balance slider can, via MIDI CC or Host Automation.
Yeah, that horizontal slider.
For instance, for CC10 just do this:
