  • VEP 5 Performance issues with Mac pro 3.1 (Master) and 6.1 (Slave)

    Greetings,

I have recently purchased a 12 Core Mac Pro 6.1 which I intend to use as my full time workstaion as soon as I get a few compatibilty issues sorted (Plug ins). In the meantime I'm using it as a VEP slave to my old 8 Core Mac Pro 3.1 Tower as the master. I imagined as the old mac is just running Pro Tools 10.3.9  as a squencer + running a few plug-ins on re-routed Aux channels (Altiverb 6, Waves compressors etc) I'd be able to set the latency very low, however I'm getting lots of clicks and pops whan I set it below 256 samples - which is dissapointing.

Does anyone out there have any advice as to the optimal settings on both the Slave and Master computers?

I have the Master set to; 4 Processors 90% Usage No delay compensation

and the Slave to: No Buffers 20 Threads per instance

    Many Thanks

Why dot you user the 8 proc?

If I was you I will only do the Midi on the Master and do all the audio and processing on the slave
