    Hello,

    Please find some attempt excerpts of the psycho score at soundcloud realized with vsl strings.

    The selected tracks are: Prelude, The city, Marion, Temptation, The murder, The water, Car lot, The toys, Discovery and Finale.

    (Of course) The indication molto forzando e feroce seem to poses a frantic quality in the original difficult to achieve. I think the original sounds more as a composite of individual violins and I'd try to improve with writing individual tracks for each violin. I know of only one library able to pull that off 😊 Tracks after I am in general content with.

    Sordini are coming from chamber strings and are layered with (filtered dimensions). Also in the score there is use of tasto and ponticello articulations which are unfortunately not available.

    Hi Martijn,

    This is fantastic. Very beautiful string sound, direct recording, nice light ambience and mainly a good ensemble of well chosen strings. I assume this was not an easy task?

    I've heard 2 pieces now and they convinced me to listen to all of them!

    Glad to hear the tracks appeal to you.

    As to your question: 'Easy' is a relative notion of course and while I definitely would not dismis the imaginative stringwriting in these works) the simplicity of the parts surprised me a bit. (At least in comparison to the average classical score.) So while tracking did not pose too much of a problem, there is quite a bit of CC finetuning to balance and phrase the parts.

    Good execution, but the tracks sound too TREBLE and not enough MID RANGE as would be the case for 1960's recordngs.

    At times the strings sound "synthy" because of the treble. Are you in the right octave for this?
