Is anyone running a slave and VEPro with the ethernet connection through a thunderbolt hub?

Does it / should it work?

(I am looking to add a slave to my rMacBook Pro. The machine does not have ethernet so I have a thunderbolt OWC TB2 dock that has ethernet)
