  • new sale

    Hi,

I was wondering if there will be another sale soon. The website still shows the one for strings which ended 2 days ago. (I'm waiting for a sale on wind instruments to complete a few of my libraries.)

    Best,

    Alan

  • Hi Alan,

We'll start a new promotion on February 1st.
I hope you understand that I can't tell you more details, but make sure to check our website (or your email if you subscribed to our newsletter) in February! :)

Hi Stefan, Will you be having a sale this February 2017 too? Thanks, M

Hopefully not, because VSL promised a "new products-firestorm" this year ๐Ÿ‘

  • New products firestorm? I'm intrigued! Any more info?

  • Leaked (Save) infos are: A New Collection starts in 2017: 1. Synchron Stage Percussion (They invested 250.000 โ‚ฌ in their new Percussion-Instruments :D) The Old Collection-Concept seems to continue?! ... 2. A new horn Collection with more than 12 historic horn-instruments included (Info by Herb) 3. And a really good message by herb was, that the dimension brasses will be extended. Very, very cool! Regarding to the new Chapter ... I' m not really sure if the new Chapter of "recording Instruments on their position at Synchron Stage" is what the VSL fans really want, because this is a "good bye" for the other roompacks-Concept. We'll see. They're recording 12 Mic-positions. Hopefully one Mic is a Close-Microphone (Center Stereo). That could be a solution to use the samples with other roompacks too. Again ... we'll see ;)

  • Thanks LAJ!

I'm guessing the Synchron stage recordings will supercede their existing Silent stage recordings. I hope there will be a fair upgrade path for existing users of their current libraries.

I was looking into getting the extended libraries and adding some other libraries but will hold out for now until I'm sure of which direction VSL are heading in and what it means for existing owners of their silent stage products.

    Thanks again!

    P

  • Hi everybody!

2017 will be a very exciting year!

You have been following the development of our Vienna Instruments Collections for quite a while, so you know that our goal is to expand the possibilities of our existing products with new additions.

Ambient samples that were recorded in a specific space are a great alternative and addition to samples that were recorded rather dry. We definitely want to share the sonic beauty of our Synchron Stage with the world out there, and new products will not replace existing ones.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Thanks Paul

    This is good to hear!

Hopefully the March newsletter will be a real treat ;)

So we're not going to retire the silent stage are we? I'm sure the Synchron Stage sounds wonderful but I like my samples dry. Maybe a Synchron MIR expansion or a Vienna Suite Synchron converb upgrade would be in order but I like the silent stage๐Ÿ˜„.

  • Hi,

I'm super excited, and happy to hear that VSL will be delighting us with new Synchron Stage Recorded VSL Libraries

With Percussion first, and hopefully Strings, Woodwinds, Brass and more specializied Libraries will follow over the next few years. This is what I was hoping (even dreaming) to see happen at VSL for the past 10 or more years, and it is finally becoming a reality !

So.. Congratulations to the VSL team for making this very wise, and important decision, and aquiring the new Synchron Stage, which will serve you in many ways to expand your services, and sample libraries to the next level of realism, and sonic beauty.

    Cheers,

    Muziksculp

  • Thanks for your kind words, muziksculp!
We're very excited about all this ourselves. :)

    Best, Stefan

  • This March sale is very dangerous...

There are just too many instruments I want to grab!

  • Cheeky request alert...

Any chance of extending the March offer to software as well or would that not be worth while for VSL?

    Thanks

    P

  • Hi Paulo,

I agree this month's promotion is indeed very attractive. Please understand though that we can't also allow software products to count for this promotion.
    Thank you.

    Best,
    Stefan

  • Hey Stefan,

No problem! It was worth a try ;)

    Thanks

Maybe you should take a look here. There is a picture of "Synchron-MIR" - Stage A. Look at all those Mics! And the Harp is even included as dry Instrument! Yeah ๐Ÿ˜‰ http://www.synchronstage.com/en/technology#!mir_synchron_tech I agree with you about the advantage of the dry recorded Instruments. But I think I will give the first Synchron-Percussion a try. I am not so interested in the Drums, but the Kolberg-Celesta could be a great benefit because it has more Keys than the existing and is sampled with a robot for maximum Velocities. It is also great that there is a Yamaha Grand in the Synchronstage which also has a computer included like the Boesendorfer. It seems that Steinway don't offer this. And there is a small Organ too in Stage A. https://www.synchronstage.com/en/technology#!reproducing_pianos

    Hello LAJ,

Thank you for posting with the links๐Ÿ‘   I feel much better now๐Ÿ˜Š

    At this link: http://www.synchronstage.com/en/technology#!mir_synchron_tech

It gives an example of a harp recorded in the different environments, iso booth, stage A with MIR, without, etc.

Perhaps I was bit hasty in my original asertion.  It looks like there's a lot of exciting stuff going on there.
