Hi: Using Finale to control VSL I am now getting lots of pops, clicks, etc. Just upgraded to the latest VSL software, also have Finale 2014.5 and the latest El Capitan (10.11.3) on my MacBook Pro Retina (late 2013). 16 GB RAM.
The same Finale file plays Ivory piano back with no problems, and playing VSL with my keyboard also presents no problems. It is not intrument overload, since even after muting instuments in Finale, and reducing all instruments to a single flute I still get distortion.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Hello Michael!
This sounds like a performance problem. I would try out the following things. - Bigger buffer size of your audio driver. - More buffers in the Vienna Ensemble Pro Server Interface. - Different setting in the VE Pro Preferences under Server/Instances/Multiprocessing. You can find help for this setting in the VE Pro manual, page 13 to 15. http://www.vsl.co.at/en/MyVSL
If you are talking about distortion because of overdriving an instrument, I would pull down the Master Volume fader of the instrument a bit. This fader gets controlled by the Finale mixer by default.
Best regards, Andi

Thanks for the reply, Andi. Increasing the buffer size to 1024 seems to have solved the problem. I will let you know if anything changes.
Best
