  • Disable plugin scanning

Is it possible to disable plugin scanning? I have no use for external plugins in Vienna Ensemble, and it keeps scanning, getting hung up on a plugin, that it can't validate ( which works fine btw and validates in my DAW). This makes it impossible to use Vienna Ensemble - it never fully loads. I'm only using AU plugins on my system, my DAW is Logic ProX.

  • Hello Kim,

You´d have to remove the plug-ins from your Components folder. Which plug-ins are causing trouble?
Did you try to open VE PRO without starting your DAW at the same time?

  • It doesn't seem to be one specifik plugin. I tried removing the offending one and restarting, then it chokes on another. I remove that one, it chokes on a third one and so on. I tried in stand aloine mode as well.

  • Hello Kim,

So what are the plug-ins that do not work?

  • The ones I remember removing was Synthogy Ivory, Virtual Guitarist, Arturia Matrix 12, EastWest Play, Slate VMR, Slate VCC, Softube Tubetech, Burnley 73

  • Hi Kim,

I assume it´s all the latest versions... how many plug-ins do you have to scan?

  • Yes - except for Virtual Guitarist which is an older, unsupported VSTi I keep alive via 32 Lives.

There is about 1200 AUs installed on my system

Paul - How about throwing out or deleating whatever file VEP is using to remember plugins so it can start from scratch?

I've had similar problems with the versions of the VEP app I don't use (the non-server versions), but the 64-bit VEP server runs like a champ. Never chockes on plugins. And I think that's partly due to the fact that I manually move plugins that I don't use out of the plugins folder, and the 64-bit server app has a good record file of working plugins. Does that make sense?

When DP has problems with plugins I just trash the plugins cache file and all is fixed.

I have about the same amount of plugins and I don't think he should be having this problem. The current buikds have been very stable. I'm using the MAS version.
