  • Problem with multiport template for LPX

    Hi,

I´m trying to use VEP6 with Logic Pro X 10.2.4. But it only plays normal if I have some midi channel of the same VEP6 instance selected. If not, as in the picture, it sounds as in the mp3 clip. Why does this happen? :/

I can´t use VEP6 at all because of this. I have a slave PC with all my sounds.

I´m using the "VE Pro 5 Multiport 6x16 Ports Logic Pro X". I´m also wondering how I´m supposed to add more VEP6 instances in logic if I need more than 6 VEP6 instances? (I use about 12 in my VEP6 Template)

Plz help me, I need this to work ASAP.

  • With Logic Pro, my  advice is to eschew the multiport and use an articulation switcher like Peter Schwartz's Articulation IDz or Ski Switcher 2 or the Audio Grocery Toolkit and use 1 VE Pro instance per instrument. It works  great with a large orchestra.

  • Thank you for the advice.

So like 500 Vep instances on a slave PC? Sounds kind of like a mess =D

One thing I´ve noticed so far is (only when using VEP6 on a slave PC) that logic actually freezes for a couple of milliseconds randomly. If I look at the mixer all the meters stop for a short second (freezes). If I use the pan it also freezes when it happens. Is this normal for LPX and VEP?

500? What the hell kind of orchestra is that?

My Hollywood orchestra on my slave PC has: Piccolo, Flute, Alto Flute, Bass Flute, Oboe, Bb Clarinet, English Horn, Bassoon, Bass Clarinet, Contra Bsn.

6 Fr Horns .solo Fr Horn, solo Fr Horn 2. solo Fr Horn 3, 3 Trpts, solo Tpt 1, solo Tpt 2, solo Tpt 3, 3 Trbs, solo Trb 1, solo Trb 2, soloTrb 3, Tuba, Cimbasso, Low Brass

Bells & Chimes, Celeste, Cymbals, Gran Casse, Mallets, Misc Perc, Snare Drums, Tambourine, Timpani, Woods

Harp, Vln 1, Vln 2, Vla, Celli, Solo Vln, Solo Cello

In VE Pro 6 on my Mac, I have a similar group of Kontakt instances. The rest is loaded in Logic Pro directly.

  • Yes i have around 500 tracks in my Cubase 8.5 template.

Do you know why my LPX is freezing? (As I wrote in my previous post). Everything freezes constantly while playing. The timer freezes constantly and the mixer, well everything, but the sound is continuing like normal. But I ofcourse can´t have it like this. Happens to anyone else when using VEP on a slave PC?

I don't know but I don't trust the multiport at all.

  • It´s when not using multiport. I have just loaded in a few multi timbral Instrument tracks with VEP6 on each. Very wierd and extremely annoying.

Nope, I don't have that problem here
