  • There is no license available which can be upgraded by your upgrade license

We recently purchased a Vienna Ensemble Pro 6 upgrade license.  We are running VEP 5 on three computers.

I attempted to add the license to our USB E-licensers and received the error message
"Currently, there is no license available which can be upgraded by your upgrade license.  Please connect an USB e-License, which holds an appropriate upgradeable license, to your computer."  (See attached screenshot)

This despite the fact that all three dongles clearly hold valid VEP 5 licenses.  I wonder if it's because the VEP is contained within a "collection license" with Vienna Instrument?  But I don't understand how that works.

Anyone got any ideas on why I can't authorize VEP 6?

  • Hello Sean,

I'll answer your request per email in detail, here in short: The logic behind the upgrade licenses works this way: FIRST we send upgrade licenses for the oldest licenses, then the others follow (depending on your registrations).

You have received 3x VE PRO 4 +5 ==> VE PRO 6 licenses, so you will need to use the VE Pro 4/5 upgrades first, which you've not used up to now.

    All the best,

  • Can you email me details as well? Having the same issue.

    Thanks!!

  • Hi rinky,

I have checked your account, and you have registered 3 x VE PRO 4, then added 3x VE PRO 4=>5 Upgrade licenses and then finally upgrade licenses from VE PRO 4+5 => 6.

Should be pretty straight forward, you simply need to apply those upgrade licenses in the right order.

If that doesn't help: The best idea to solve specific problems is always to contact us directly at support@vsl.co.at!

    Best,
