  • [SOLVED] Trill patches for alto recorder not working

    Hi,

I cannot get trill articulations (33 RE-Al_perf-trill_Vib and 34 RE-Al_perf-trill_noVib) to work for the Alto Recorder, although the cells are loaded (VI pro shows 35MB of RAM) and the keyswitches are set. Attached is a 4-bar Sibelius snipet that works when played with the soprano instrument but not with the alto-recorder instrument.

    Any ideas?

  • Hello gilles1234!

The performance trills work fine for the Alto recorder here. Why don't you use the "VE Woodwinds+Brass" sound set and VI presets for Sibelius we prepared?

You don't have to add keyswitches or CC commands then.

Please note that the highest note for the performance trills (Alto recorder) is G#6. So a trill of G6/A6 will not work unless you extend the range with the Vienna Instruments Pro player. (Advanced/Show range/right handle on the virtual keyboard).

    Best regards,
    Andi

    Hi Andy,

Yes, I'm using the indicated soundset (see attached). However, Sibelius doesn't seem to pass on the controls (e.g. it doesn't change cells when the score goes stacatto and then legato etc.).

  • Oh my.... Sorry Andi...

I just looked at the attached image... to realize, all of a sudden, what was my error: I selected "alto...Sax" instead of "Alto recorder". And same for the Tenor. Changed that and all works OK! Problem was "in front of the screen" ;-)

Please close this report and have a merry 2017!
